Demon Quest Board Game, May - June 2018
Demon Quest is a board game for 2 - 6 players that was created as part of a game design class at the University of Washington. In creating the game, we applied concepts we learned in class about game mechanics and dynamics.
The premise of Demon Quest is this:
You are a demon, and you have the power to possess beasts, humans, and monsters. You are racing through different areas of the world, competing with other demons to be the last one standing at the end. Whoever reaches the end first unlocks the key which gives them immortal powers. The goal of the game is to travel through all three areas/boards— Forest, Town and Sky Castle—and make it to the end.
For this project I worked in a team of three people to create the board game. I was responsible for all graphic design elements, though each of my two teammates picked the color schemes for two of the boards. I was responsible for the color scheme of the last board, the Sky Castle. In addition to that, I worked on the game mechanics, particularly the handling of possession/event cards, as well as the board layouts, and drafted the instruction sheet for the game.
